Position Overview:
As a Organic Harvest team player you will be responsible for helping our customers maintain a healthy lifestyle! You will perform all functions relating to the maintenance and proper food preparation of the hot case, cold case, smoothies and sandwich preparations. Additionally you will help maintain food displays and support the cafe team with courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers. Tuesday, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays 7:30 -3:30pm. 32  hours per week.  Pay depending on experience.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

Duties:
·         Maintain quality food standards.
·         Know all stations within the department including cold case, sandwich station, juice     and smoothie station.
·         Know products and specials to be served.
·         Taste your food to insure quality and consistency.
·         Proper use of recipes and procedures.
·         Rotate all products. Label, date and cover all food in kitchen.
·         Properly store all perishables and keep all stored ingredients covered and dated.
·         Train on potential hazards and general safety.
·         Maintains a clean and organized workstation.
·         Maintain effective communication with team members and Supervisor.
·         Capable of receiving product.  Recognition of damaged products and the ability to return with vendor/driver.
·         Monitor food loss and maintain spoilage sheets.
·         Make log entries when appropriate.
·         Complete sandwich/smoothie prep lists.
·         Insure compliance with all state Health codes and maintain high standards of cleanliness in work area.
·         Empty trash in café area at end of your shift.
·         Scrub and mop floors when needed.
·         Work with café team to stock supplies before and after your shift.
·         Prepare sanitation buckets.
·         Perform other duties, as assigned by café supervisor and follow through in a timely manner.

Requirements:
·         2-3 years culinary experience.
·         Able to perform physical requirements of job.
·         Ability to lift 50lbs or more and stand on hard surfaced floor for long periods of time.
·         Practices safe and proper knife and kitchen utensil skills.
·         Ability to work box bailer (must be 18 year of age or older).
·         Know dishes included in various dietary categories:  Vegan,Vegetarian,Gluten free,ect.
·         Works well with other and participates as part of a team.
·         Ability to work rotating schedule Monday thru Sunday including some holidays.

Title Cashier

Part-time weekend Cashier Position:

Your role will include greeting and assisting customers during the checkout process, performing all cash register functions, and bagging groceries. You will ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers.
Duties:

  1. Greet and welcome customers to Organic Harvest
  2. Answer and direct customers to the correct department or find the right employee or manager that can assist the customer
  3. Make sure our customers are being taken care of in a kind, courteous, & helpful manner at all times
  4. Answer telephone calls quickly with proper phone etiquette
  5. Make sure the store front looks great at all times
  6. Keeping carts and shopping baskets in their designated areas
  7. Restock grocery bags and register tape
  8. Process any store returns
  9. Support and educate customers about in-store promotions
  10. Assist and support other employees when ever possible

Requirements:

  1. Excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team; ability to communicate effectively with customers
  2. Ability to follow instructions and procedures
  3. Ability to be flexible and work well with others
  4. A desire to learn about natural and organic foods and products
  5. Effective time management skills
  6. Strong work ethic and integrity
  7. Stand and walk for extended periods of time
  8. Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders
  9. Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds, unassisted and able to push and pull carts with product weighing up to 100 pounds
  10. Use of box cutters
